RULER OF OUR LIVES

The Bible makes it clear that God will settle for nothing less than being Ruler of our lives.

"You call me 'Teacher' and 'Lord', and rightly so, for that is what I am"  John 13:13

Believing in Jesus means that we must turn away from what we know to be wrong so as to turn to a way of life that seeks to please God.  We put our trust in Jesus, believing that what He has done is enough to bring us to God.

'Thomas said to Him, "My Lord and my God!" Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed;  blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed"  John 20:28-29

However, Jesus not only invites us to believe in Him but warns us too.  If we choose to disobey Him and disbelieve what He has done, we are still separated from God and will have to bear the punishment for our own wrongs.

"Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath (anger) remains on him"  John 3:36-67

If you believe in Jesus and would like Him to be the Ruler of your life, in every department 100%
commitment now.   Why not talk to Him about it today?

PRAYER:

LORD JESUS
I WANT TO KNOW YOU IN A PERSONAL WAY.  I'M SORRY FOR IGNORING YOU, DISOBEYING YOU AND LIVING MY LIFE MY OWN WAY.  PLEASE COME INTO MY LIFE AS MY SAVIOR AND LORD.  HELP ME TO LOVE AND OBEY YOU WITH ALL MY HEART. AMEN!

Now pray the Lord's Prayer:

Our Father who art in Heaven Hallowed be thy name,
thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven,
Give us this day our daily bread and
Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us,
Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil,
For thine is the Kingdom the power and the glory,
Forever and ever Amen.

Turning to Jesus must be accompanied by a desire to obey God.  You must be willing to:
  1. Turn away from anything which displeases God surrendering the rule of your life to Christ.
     2.   Set out to live in such a way that will please Him.

     3.   Continue to trust that what Christ did on the Cross was enough to take the punishment on your behalf.  If you have put your trust in Jesus Christ the Son of God, the Bible (His Word) promises you will have eternal life.

'Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God'  John 1:12

This is only the start of a relationship with God.
Tell another Christian about it so they can offer you support.

We recommend that you:
  • Read the Bible regularly, asking God to speak to you through His word.
  • Pray, talking to God as you would to a close friend.
  • Join a church where the Bible is taught.
  • Tell your friends and family about your faith.
What if I fail to do what pleases God?  Ask God for His forgiveness and do what is right.  We try to live a life that pleases God because of our relationship with Him.  However, our relationship with God is based on what Jesus has done and not on what we do.

What if I am not ready yet to commit?     Find out more about the life and teaching of Jesus.  Read the Gospel of John.  Ask questions.
